As much as I hate Disney remaking so many of its classics, I hate to admit that I'm rather excited about this one.

In Tim Burton's remake of the 1941 film, circus owner named Max Medici (played by Danny DeVito), Holt Farrier (played by Collin Farrell) and his children Milly Farrier (played by Nico Parker) and Joe Farrier (played by Finley Hobbins) welcome a newborn elephant named Dumbo to the small, struggling circus.

Milly says a touching line to Dumbo: "We're all family here, no matter how small."

Sadly, Dumbo's incredibly large ears make him the butt of many jokes from the audience. However, once it is discovered that Dumbo can fly, Dumbo is sent to Dreamland with V.A. Vandevere (played by Michael Keaton) as an upgrade from the small circus he was born into. There, he captures the audience's attention as he flies through the sky. Unfortunately for poor Dumbo, Dreamland isn't all smiles and rainbows. It actually turns out to be a nightmare.

Tim Burton has directed many films in the Disney franchise, the most notable being The Nightmare Before Christmas. He's known to add an eerie, disturbing feel to his work, which I personally love. However, not everyone shares my love for Tim Burton and are very skeptical about his remake of the beloved animated version. It'll be interesting to see how Burton throws his own creative twist into it.

Dumbo will hit theaters March 29, 2019
