Eight years ago, we were introduced to the Stark family. Since then, their lives have been filled with upheaval, betrayal, sadness and violence. Yet somehow, the Stark children managed to find their way back to each other in Winterfell.

However, they are not children anymore. The hardships they've each endured has changed them immensely. Sansa is no longer an annoying, materialistic preteen, but a firm Lady of the North who cares for her people deeply. Arya is no longer a little girl running around playing soldier, but a cold-blooded assassin. Bran is weirder then ever (like seriously, stop staring at people from afar). Jon Snow, I mean what hasn't this guy been through. Watching Arya run to Jon and hug him was a wonderful moment, considering Arya was the only one who treated Jon like a real brother growing up.

The Season 8 premiere didn't give us a lot of new information. We just basically watched as other characters were told things we had known for a long time. When Daenerys reveals to Sam that she murdered his father and brother, I was heartbroken for him. The news about his father came as a shock, but nothing was more painful to watch than when he found out his brother died with him.

After bending the knee to Dany, allies are now skeptical of Jon because of how easily he relinquished his title to her and the fact that they had accepted him as the king, not this southern girl. Now, all of these people that swore allegiance to House Stark are getting cold feet. Are we surprised? The theme of this show is: Don't listen to Jon, it comes back to bite us in the butt, apologize to Jon and swear allegiance, repeat. Maybe they'll finally learn their lesson when they're all killed by the dead.

Then, of course, the big reveal we were all waiting for. Daenerys and Jon are related! And now Jon knows. I don't know about anyone else, but I was expecting more of a reaction from a guy that just slept with his aunt and is the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms.

Back in King's Landing, Cersei has some plans of her own. Besides getting "real close" with Euron Greyjoy and being upset that she can't have elephants shipped to her overseas, she puts a hit out on both of her brothers. I'm not surprised about her wanting Tyrion dead, but Jaime? The father of her unborn child? I have a hard time believing that she would actually kill Jaime after everything they've been through, but who knows.

Speaking of Jaime, the episode ends with an "oh s***" moment when he locks eyes with Bran Stark, the kid he tried to murder by pushing him off a tower years ago. Can't wait to see where that leads.

Overall, I want less talking and more fighting. I'm ready for some epic, series-ending battles. Hopefully it speeds up quick in the next few episodes.
